Applicant overview: NAVSS became a registered charity in 1969 with the aims of 1) relieving poverty and distress among persons who have suffered as a result of criminal offences committed by any person by any means and their families and 2) advancing public education by research into issues relating to the victims of crime and their families and to disseminate this information and research. NAVSS was formed by representatives from a number of various regional victims support schemes to improve coordination, training and standards. Nature of support: In 1982 the Trust approved three annual grants of £6,000 per annum to NAVSS.
