TitleNorthern Ireland Grants, part 3, File 7/21
LevelFile
Date1983 - 1985
DescriptionGrant file containing correspondence, minutes, copies of published material, newsletters, leaflets, newspaper cuttings, agendas and funding requests related to Northern Ireland projects including the Irish Council for Civil Liberties (ICCL) and the Belfast Charitable Trust for Integrated Education (BELTIE). Funding source(s): Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust, Barrow Cadbury Fund Ltd. Applicant overview: The ICCL is an independent, non-party organisation formed to promote civil liberties and to protect human rights, to recover civil liberties where they have been removed and to enlarge them where they have been diminished. ICCL was founded in 1976 by individuals from universities, trade unions and other parts of public life. BELTIE was formed to bring about the gradual integration of primary schools in Northern Ireland. Nature of support: The Fund provided £100 to an officer of ICCL as a safety net. The Trust declined to support BELTIE, feeling its resources could be better allocated elsewhere. Minutes: B&GSCT 6345, BCF 2379. Notes: This file contains notes on a number of other ongoing projects in addition to those issued new or continuing grants from 1983 to 1985. Included in this file is a list of Northern Ireland projects supported by the British Council of Christian Churches. File organised by date from newest to oldest. File labelled '7/21'.
