Cadbury Trust and became a registered charity in 1985. The objectives of CRIS are to, 1) capacity building support to strengthen individual groups and communities, 2) workshops on community organising, leadership, training and planning for action, 3) advice on fundraising, financial systems and an auditing service, 4) weekend residentials, which bring members of different groups and communities together, and 5) citizenship courses for refugees and asylum seekers. Nature of support: In 1988 the Paul S. Cadbury Trust approved three annual grants of £10,000 towards core costs. In 1989 a further annual grant of £10,000 was agreed plus £2,000 in underwriting. In 1991 the Fund allocated £5,000 for the purchase of new printing machinery for CRIS. This grant was subsequently paid through the Paul S. Cadbury Trust. In 1992 a further £10,000 grant was agreed for 1992/1993 plus an additional £5,000 in 1993/1994. These grants were increased by £5,000 each later that same year. In 1993 the Paul S. Cadbury Trust agreed to three additional grants of £30,000 to help establish a community information service. Later that year the grant contribution was increased to between £41,000 and £48,000 per annum. In 1995 the Barrow Cadbury Trust agreed to increase annual support for staffing costs by £7,000 per annum. Later that same year a grant of £11,000 was approved for five years towards running costs. In 1999 the Trust agreed to a further grant augmentation of £5,000 per annum for three years. In 2000 the Trust agreed to five years of support at £100,000 per annum.
