Applicant overview: NIAL was established by a group of individuals involved in the promotion of adult learning through the work of self-enquiry centres, community support groups and self help groups. Their aim is to strengthen this movement, increase its resources, develop its relevance for other movements and sectors of education and society to produce a body of good practice. To that end it is proposed that a clearing house be established to link workers and work throughout the country. Nature of support: In 1986 the Paul S.
