Applicant overview: BANC was established to advocate for the creation of urban parish councils to encourage greater community involvement and representation in government at the community level. The aim of the urban parish council is to provide a more efficient, easier to run and more accountable form of local government. Nature of support: In 1980 the Fund made a grant of up to £1,250 to allow BANC to conduct public education work in its pro-urban parish council campaign. To this sum was later added a further £2,500.
