Applicant overview: In 1986 the City of Birmingham Department of Recreation and Community Services proposed that a neighbourhood community worker be appointed in the Quinton/Woodgate area for the purpose of 1) stimulating local community involvement by creating a local residents association and new activity groups, 2) supporting existing groups, 3) encouraging communication between groups, 4) liaising with other agencies, and 5) providing information to local residents.
