Applicant overview: The TAS was established in 1978 in collaboration with the Trust for the purpose of offering legal advice on charity registration and drafting constitutions, book-keeping advice and technical advice on building projects to voluntary organisations in Birmingham and the West Midlands. This assistance will allow voluntary organisations to better access funds from the local authority and charitable organisations including the Trust. TAS was set up under the auspices of the Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC) and works with the Birmingham Law Society (BLS), the regional association of chartered accountants and informally with a number of architects with ties to the Royal Institute of British Architects Community Projects Scheme (RIBACPS). Nature of support: The Trust budget for TAS projects for 1984/1985 was set at £4,000.
