Funding source(s): Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: Gateway Refuge, Bromsgrove was established in 1979 and became a registered charity that same year. Gateway offers shelter to local women who have experienced violence at home. During 1984/1985 twenty-nine families with a total of fifty-five children were housed at the refuge. The St Thomas Project is comprised of representatives of the local community and professionals of St Thomas Ward, Dudley. The Network was formed to devise strategies to improve the quality of life for the residents of the Ward. Nature of support: In 1986 the Trust agreed to a community project budget of £5,000.
