Funding source(s): Barrow Cadbury Fund Ltd. Applicant overview: CWEDA was formed in 1988 and became an autonomous organisation in 1990. CWEDA's aims are to promote, support, develop women's enterprises in Coventry where women are experiencing the worst effects of unemployment, lack of facilities and resources, low pay and racial discrimination to enable women to have equal choice and access to resources which will enable them to choose their social and economic objectives. This is accomplished by raising awareness of enterprise possibilities, providing a range of services and facilities geared towards supporting women entrepreneurs, working with related agencies in Coventry and effect change in support of women entrepreneurs. Nature of support: In 1991 the Fund agreed to a grant of £30,000 as an endowment to the CWEDA scheme. In 1993 the use of this grant was amended to refurbishing CWEDA premises.
