| Description | Grant file containing correspondence, minutes, agendas, newspaper cuttings, leaflets, press release and funding requests relating to the Campaign Against Drinking and Driving (CADD). Funding source(s): Barrow Cadbury Fund Ltd., Southfield Trust. Applicant overview: CADD was set up to support families of victims killed and injured by drunken and irresponsible drivers. Its' message was that not nearly enough was being done to prevent other people becoming the innocent victims of drinking drivers and that existing policies and penalties in relation to drinking drivers, especially those who killed or injured others, did not adequately reflect the true nature of the offence. Its three primary aims are to 1) offer succour to victims' families, 2) reduce the number of killed and injured by drunk drivers, and 3) to collaborate with other interested organisations. Nature of support: In 1986 the Southfield Trust recommended a single grant of £1,000 to CADD. Minutes: BCF 2670, ST 6/86. Notes: File organised from newest to oldest. File numbered '8/7'. |
