Funding source(s): Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust, Minority Arts Programme. Applicant overview: First opened in 1962, MAC is Birmingham's pioneering arts complex. MAC is a national leader in developing work with children, families and young people of all backgrounds. MAC became a registered charity in 1962. Nature of support: The Minority Arts Programme approved a series of grants for various MAC projects. In 1982 a grant of £350 was made to the Afro Caribbean Dance and Music Weekend. In 1984 a grant of £500 was made toward the costs of dance costumes. That same year grants of £700 were approved for Asian women's pottery courses. In 1986 the Focus on India project received a grant of £350. That same year a grant of up to £1,000 toward transport costs for the National Festival of Youth Theatres (NFYT).
