Applicant overview: AFA was established to, 1) advance education by educating the public in the arts and sciences, and in particular wood carving, screen printing, clothing design, pottery, painting, drawing, drama and theatre, 2) promote the improvement and development of art appreciation, 3) improve conditions of life through the provision of facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation, and 4) advancing education through the provision of facilities for vocational training in the Coventry area. Nature of support: In 1985 Minority Arts Programme Trustees made a single grant of £500 towards the AFA Minority Crafts Workshop. In 1986 a further grant of £300 was provided.
