The economic base of Telford is also considered and an indication of the range of people attracted to the area is also given. Scrap paper was used for /c, including spare leaflets advertising a benefit concert for strikers in the P.S. Raindi and Supreme Quilting disputes.
/4 relates to IMI [Imperial Metal Industries] and the impact of factory closures in Witton and other districts of Birmingham. Two sets of transcripts are included, /a is a single, typed sheet of notes, whereas /b consists of 10 sides of handwritten notes and makes reference to Delta Metals. An examination of trade union responses to the increasing threat of redundancy is included, as are comments on worker co-operatives.
/5 is a note about interviews concerning Handsworth and Aston Claimants Union. It provides details of questions which were not audible on tape recordings [transcripts of these recordings have not been identified at the time of cataloguing]. This note also includes some responses to questions. |
