| Description | This production supported the NALGO campaign against cuts in Social Services provision. It was also concerned about other public sector cuts, especially those in the National Health Service. Elements of the earlier Banner show 'Sell Out of the Century' [MS 1611/B/4] were incorporated into this production.
'Christmas Choppers' parodied Christmas Carol singers and was performed as street theatre in Birmingham Bull Ring in December 1975. This location was significant, given that the performance was outside the Woolworth store, whose corporate profits [amongst others] were contrasted with swingeing cuts in public sector budgets. |
