| Description | This transcript records an interview with the wife of a Yorkshire miner arrested whilst on picket duty at 'Saltley Gate'. Her reaction to seeing his arrest on Television news is given, together with her views about picketing, the miners' cause and the role of the media [in reporting the 1972 and the 1974 strike].
Also recorded is an interview with Ian Ferguson, Branch Secreatry of the NUM Edlington Branch. This branch covered Yorkshire Main Colliery which was at this time Britain's largest colliery. He describes his move from the Frances Colliery, Fife to Yorkshire Main in 1963, under the [NCB] interdivisional transfer scheme.
