| Description | These papers consist a poem and a sequence of translations made by Lucy Galton. The translations were made for her son John Howard Galton, and were clearly originally sent as enclosures in letters she sent to him (see MS3101/C/D/10/6), but appear to have been subsequently separated. It has not been possible to reconstruct the original arrangement. The poem may also have been copied and sent to John Howard Galton, but there is no internal evidence to suggest that this was the case. |
