DescriptionThis section comprises two sequences of letters written to Joseph Farmer at Liverpool by his brother James Farmer, and his sister Mary Farmer, and single letters written by his cousin Thomas Farmer, and by friends Henry and Rand[al] Bradburne. The letters from James Farmer mainly concern business affairs, particularly relating to gun orders taken by the family iron manufacturing firm, later to become Farmer & Galton, for ships leaving Liverpool , while the letters from the other correspondents, including his sister Mary, are predominantly concerned with family and social news.
