Track 2: Duration (min/sec): 1.05 Description of track: HC says he never had a holiday in his working life except for Good Friday afternoon; he worked 10 hours a day, 6 days a week; Sunday was a 'day of rest' and Christmas Day could be taken as a paid holiday if the cattle were fed first
Track 3: Duration (min/sec): 2.56 Description of track: HC was paid 2s2d a day in summer and 2s in winter; believes they could have afforded to pay more; he never got a week's holiday; HC does not believe that people today are as happy with their money, cars etc; HC fondly remembers going to the pub on a Saturday night and having a great time with his father and his fiddle; not happen anymore
Track 4: Duration (min/sec): 4.29 Description of track: his father knew a lot of songs from his fishing work and HC learnt them when they worked together on the land; his father would pay people when he was a fisherman to teach him songs as he couldn't read; HC recalls sing-a-longs in pubs which don't happen anymore
Track 5: Duration (min/sec): 1.41 Description of track: as pub sing-a-longs died out over the last 20-30 years HC stopped going
Track 6: Duration (min/sec): 1.09 Description of track: HC was the one in the family who learnt a lot of songs; his own daughter knows some of his old songs
