Track 4: Duration (min/sec): 1.55 Description of track: HC does not sing songs on a Sunday as he does not approve of it; he would sing songs when preparing the turnip feed for the bullocks [noise of aeroplane flying past]
Track 5: Duration (min/sec): 3.43 Description of track: HC used to go to the music halls and theatres but he did not learn the stage songs as they did not have the long life of his old songs; HC not confident about idea of singing his old songs live to a big theatre audience; talked briefly how men might put you down when singing in the pubs
Track 6: Duration (min/sec): 3.25 Description of track: HC did not enter local singing competitions but a show of hands would decide the winner; he does not like moving about when singing and performing as does not feel it is necessary
