The programme was produced by Charles Parker, with music compiled from traditional sources and sung by Ian Campbell, with singers Rosemary Redpath, Lorna Campbell, and John Chapman, who also played the guitar. The musicians in the programme were Tom Woodward (accordion); Dave Swarbrick (fiddle); and John Dunkley (banjo). The song 'The Greasy Wheel' was recorded from Arthur Johns and the principal speakers from the canals were Sister Mary Ward, Sam Lomas, Ernie Thomas, Robert Akeman, Alf Best, Mr Bates, and Mr and Mrs Joe Skinner.
