Tony recalls listening to a Decca radio set. He describes his confirmation in the Catholic church (at 10 years old), and receiving his 'pledge pin' to abstain from alcohol until he was 21 years old, although he began drinking at 14 when he left school. He talks about the influence of older boys' influencing him, and his first encounters with girls.
