She discusses receiving treatment and her feelings of depression when she was placed on the blind register, feeling frightened when travelling in the car, particularly at night, and the benefits she gained from attending the rehabilitation centre at Bridgnorth. She describes how she tells whether she likes people through the tones of their voice, her lack of awareness of blind people before she lost her sight and talks about some of her younger friends who are blind or partially sighted. She discusses some of the derogatory folk saying and metaphors associated with blindness, her love of music, her wish that she had taken singing lessons and her belief that children need to be taught how to swim and play musical instruments as well as how to read and write (tracks 1-4).
