He discusses different types of motorcycles, attending the rehabilitation centre at Bridgnorth when his sight deteriorated, and the help this gave him in adjusting to his condition, his sympathy for other people who have had more severe problems than himself and how he relates to people and the wider world using his other senses. He talks about the help he has received from female guides in navigating crowds, his assumption that people will be friendly towards him, his indifference to how sighted people view him and the help that the white stick gives him. He goes on to discuss his feelings about other mobility aids and the current issues for blind welfare organisations. He discusses the low incomes and lack of pension for most blind people and his difficulties in paying his expenses, the restrictions to mobility that some blind people have, particularly those who are older, and his own ability to exercise and take part in social activities and excursions (tracks 1-7).
