AdminHistory'Under an Apple Tree' was a radio documentary produced by Charles Parker but compiled by Dilip Hiro from interviews conducted by Dilip Hiro.

The programme concerned the topic of couples who had married people of a different ethnicity to themselves. The couples featured include both married and divorced people from white English, white Welsh, African Caribbean, Nigerian, Muslim Indian and Sikh Indian backgrounds. The couples discuss their relationships, how they met each other, problems in their relationships, their childrenof mixed ethnicity and children from non-mixed marriages, and their families' reactions to their marriages. There is also comment from the academic author Calvin Hernton on the subject of inter-racial marriages and the differences of how these relationships are viewed in the U.S.A. and Britain.

The documentary was broadcast on BBC Radio 4.
