DescriptionElizabeth remarks on her efforts to improve the neatness of her handwriting and apologises for not having written to her cousin Hannah Lucas. She writes that she was trying to follow her mother's advice about tidiness noting that she had tidied her drawers. She refers to the ill health of her uncle Samuel Lucas and writes about arrangements for her cousin Hannah to come and live with the Taylor family at Sunbury if her uncle died.

Please note that C. R. Cheney's 'Handbook of Dates' has been used to date this letter which was originally dated as 'Sunday April 27th'.
