| Description | At the beginning of this letter Elizabeth provides details about the structure of her school day writing that supper was held at half past six on Saturdays in order that the girls could get their baths finished by eight o'clock.
Elizabeth notes that there had been a storm in Saxe-Meiningen with thunder, lightning and torrential rain for the past five nights. She refers to the wedding of her aunt Caroline (Carrie) Cash to George Barrow of Birmingham.
Like many of Elizabeth's letters from school, this letter includes a number of remarks about provisions which she wanted to be sent to her from home. She asks for some brown ribbon to wear with her 'best brown dress', adding that she would like 'some blue & violet ribbons with their velvets to match & some chocolate!' Elizabeth describes a recent outing with her school friends when they had walked near to a hotel in Saxe-Meiningen to hear the town's band playing.
Elizabeth notes that a dancing party was planned for the following Wednesday adding that Miss Trinks had complained about the 'unbearable' noise which some of the girls had made dancing and singing earlier that week.
The reverse of the letter contains a list headed 'will you send please' in which Elizabeth lists everything she wanted her parents to send her from home, particularly for the Christmas Ball. The list includes pear buttons, sealing wax, exercise books, gloves and 'shoes (with heels) for the ball'.
