DescriptionElizabeth begins this letter by sending her best wishes to her brothers and sisters, commenting on the 'profusion of flowers' in Saxe-Meiningen. Elizabeth describes her new 'particular friend' at school, a girl called Blanche Baddeley. Much of the letter concerns family activities and the unusually hot weather in Saxe-Meiningen. Elizabeth includes a list of provisions which she wanted her parents to bring to her when they visited her at school, including scented soap and clothes. Elizabeth also remarks how much her German had improved.
