TitleLetter from Elizabeth Taylor to John and Mary Jane Taylor
LevelItem
Date[n.d. 1872 - 1873]
DescriptionThe beginning of Elizabeth's letter indicates that her parents had recently given permission for Elizabeth and her sister Margaret (Pearlie) to participate in dancing lessons at the school. After asking her parents to send her clothing and books Elizabeth describes a recent incident when a girl had broken her bedstead. This had prompted the school's principals to remove the doors on the girls' dormitories in order to keep a closer watch over their behaviour. Elizabeth adds that she had been forbidden from attending a concert because she had accumulated too many bad marks during the month.
