| Description | Elizabeth thanks her father for his letter and tells him that she hadn't boiled the plum pudding her mother had sent from home as both she and Margaret preferred to eat it cold. Elizabeth notes that she wore mistletoe in her hat when she went to Church on Christmas day and describes her recent activities.
Although this letter is undated it is possible to suggest that it was written following Christmas 1872 when both Elizabeth and her sister Margaret (Pearlie) were at school in Saxe-Meiningen, indicating a date of January 1873.
Please note that the last page of this letter features crossed writing and is difficult to read in places. |
