TitleLetter from Elizabeth Taylor to John and Mary Jane Taylor
LevelItem
Date[n.d. December 1873]
DescriptionElizabeth refers to a school play which the girls were planning to perform and thanks her parents for their letters. She also remarks on the recent death of her grandmother and asks her parents to include a number of items for her school-friends in her Christmas parcel. Elizabeth also asks her parents to send her a black plaid shawl, concluding her letter with remarks about the cold weather in Germany.

Although this letter isn't dated it is possible to suggest a date of December 1873 based on Elizabeth's references to her forthcoming Christmas parcel and the death of her grandmother. Elizabeth also asks after her mother's new baby, referring to her younger brother John Augustine who was born in November 1873.
