| Description | Elizabeth Taylor wrote these letters to her father John Taylor whilst he was away from home staying in Newry, on the East Coast of Ireland. The letters suggest that Elizabeth Taylor was staying at home in Sunbury, Peckham Rye and was in charge of caring for her younger siblings, the letters indicating that both her mother Mary Jane Taylor and elder sister Margaret (Pearlie) Taylor were also away from home. Although these letters are not dated, they were included amongst Elizabeth Taylor's correspondence written whilst she was attending school in Saxe-Meiningen, suggesting that they were written whilst she was on holiday from school between 1872 and 1874. The letters include many remarks on family news. |
