| AdminHistory | In 1925 Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury was appointed the first female President of the National Free Church Council (Federal Council of the Free Churches). Taylor Cadbury's husband George Cadbury had been largely responsible for the foundation of the National Free Church Council in the 1890s which aimed towards a closer alliance between different Nonconformist churches. George Cadbury maintained a close interest in the Council until his death in 1922. Following the period of her presidency during the 1920s, Taylor Cadbury served as President of the National Free Church Women's Council between 1930 and 1931 and delivered an address about her work with the Free Church Council in 1949. |
