| Description | In this letter George Wells thanks Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury for her broadcast writing that 'thousands of auditors will heartily appreciate your views'. He complements Taylor Cadbury on the 'kind of actual companionship' with Jesus which she had encouraged in her address. Wells provides further remarks concerning the religious views which Taylor Cadbury had expressed, suggesting that 'unbelief' continued to be the 'stumbling block' of the world.
A pencil annotation on the letter, possibly written by one of Taylor Cadbury's personal secretaries, notes that Wells had been informed of Taylor Cadbury's poor health which prevented her from responding immediately to his letter.
A printed advertisement is enclosed within this letter which George Wells included to promote a number of religious texts which he had published such as 'The Crucian Year' and other devotional works. The advertisement features extracts from press notices reviewing the works. |
