| Description | In this chapter Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury describes the development of her interest in writing, from her school days onwards. Taylor Cadbury refers to her work editing a collection of her mother Mary Jane Taylor's personal letters which were published in 'Dear Memory: Pages from the Letters of Mary Jane Taylor', a book written by Taylor Cadbury commemorating the life of her mother which was printed for private circulation in 1914. Taylor Cadbury refers particularly to the period of her life following her marriage to George Cadbury and move to Birmingham in 1888, remarking on her involvement with the Friends' Essay Society and Book Club. Taylor Cadbury provides an overview of the different subjects on which she had written throughout her life, referring to her religious writings and addresses considering education and social service. She remarks particularly on the broadcast about international friendship which she delivered in India during 1936 and her address about English local government delivered at the Foreign Office in Palestine in 1933. Taylor Cadbury features many extracts and anecdotes selected from her various writings throughout this chapter.
