| Description | This document was enclosed with Emmeline Pethick-Lawrence's letter alongside a copy of the 'Indian Deadlock British Women's Appeal' statement which Pethick-Lawrence distributed amongst the women who supported the appeal. Following the submission of the statement to the national press on 3rd June 1943, the 'Manchester Guardian' featured an article entitled 'India' remarking on Anglo-Indian relations. The section of the article which refers directly to the 'appeal by many of the most distinguished women in this country' is highlighted in pink.
