| Date | 17 March 1945 |
| Description | The feminist and internationalist Margery Irene Corbett-Ashby (1882-1981), Chairman of the Liaison Group of British Women's Societies, wrote to Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury concerning the British women's appeal 'to end the political deadlock in India' which had been publicised in 1943. Noting that the situation remained unchanged, Corbett-Ashby asks Taylor Cadbury to support a statement concerning 'an appeal for a new initiative' in the Indian deadlock as a prominent woman 'in the public life of this country'. |
