| Description | This leatherette bound Walker's 'Year by Year' book covers the years 1913-1917 featuring a page for each day of the year with room for entries over a period of five years for each date. A note on the inside from cover of the book indicates that it was presented to Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury as a gift by L. Harris Hellyes. The diary includes daily entries written by Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury in ink. These entries vary in length and detail. Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury has added the day of the week to the date for each entry. Small pieces of pink blotting paper and yellow tissue paper have been used to mark entries in the September section of the diary. Pieces of card featuring revised entries have been glued over original entries for 26th September 1915 and 27th September 1915. The last page entitled 'Memoranda' at the back of the diary features brief notes made in ink by Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury relating to foreign hotels. |
