TitleElizabeth Taylor Cadbury's personal diary for 1926-1930
LevelItem
Date01 January 1926 - 31 December 1929
DescriptionThis leatherette bound Walker's 'Year by Year' book covers the years 1926-1930 featuring a page for each day of the year with room for entries over a period of five years for each date. Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury has added the day of the week to the date for entries throughout this diary which vary in length and detail. Please note that entries relating to 1930 only continue up to 14th December 1930. A piece of paper marked with the words 'May 26th 1930 - Arrive Vienna!' is enclosed between pages dated 25th May and 26th May. The note also includes the words 'on afterwards to National Councils of Bucharest Prague & Budapest.' Other markers including a small piece of pink blotting paper and folded sheets of writing paper are also enclosed throughout the diary. Two additional items are enclosed loose at the back of the diary including a torn extract of a letter to Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury from one of her nieces or nephews in Hampstead and a sheet of paper featuring brief details about 'Degree Day Tickets Saturday Next'. It is probable that these details relate to the degree ceremony at which Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury was awarded her honorary masters degree from the University of Birmingham.
