TitleElizabeth Taylor Cadbury's holiday & travel journals
LevelSub Series
DateAugust 1883 - September 1893
DescriptionThis section contains holiday and travel journals kept by Elizabeth Taylor and her siblings before her marriage to George Cadbury in 1888 and journals relating to her holidays with her husband and their family during the 1890s. The early journals in this section relate to Elizabeth Taylor's tour of Switzerland with her aunt Caroline and uncle George Barrow in 1883 and a holiday staying with her younger siblings in a cottage in Haslemere, Surrey in 1885. Later journals relate to the Cadbury family's tour of Scotland in 1889, their family holidays in Tarbet, Scotland in 1891-1892 and Elizabeth and George Cadbury's visit to Switzerland in 1893.

Many of the journals contain sketches, small watercolour paintings and photographs, some of which are enclosed loose between pages. Two of the journals also have pressed leaves, grass and heather attached to a number of their pages.
