TitleLetter from Mary Jane Taylor to Elizabeth Taylor
LevelItem
Date[n.d. February 1882 - April 1882]
DescriptionMary Taylor thanks her daughter for her recent family letters and remarks on the ill health of Elizabeth's younger brother Wilfrid. She asks Elizabeth to ensure that a fire was lit in Wilfrid's room when Elizabeth and her siblings returned from visiting their aunt Caroline and uncle George Barrow. Mary Taylor advises Elizabeth 'not to get too overdone' with all her activities. She provides an account of an address she had heard at Quaker Meeting which suggested that Friends who valued Christ's friendship 'would also seek companionship and earthly friendship with His followers'. Mary Taylor concludes her letter by referring to a dress pattern.
