| Description | Relating to his wife's letter of the same date, George Cadbury thanks the children for their letters and remarks on the scenery and weather. He writes about dining customs at their hotel and remarks that some guests did not get up until midday. George Cadbury also notes that many of the guests were wealthy and 'absorbed in pleasure and in self indulgence'.
On 3rd October 1902 George Cadbury writes that the family had moved to the Chateau des Falaises which Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury had discovered. He remarks that the Chateau was near to a sheltered bay where the children could swim. Elizabeth Cadbury continues the letter remarking on the family's holiday activities, noting that George Cadbury was suffering from a cold and commenting on the 'glorious view' from where they were staying. |
