The extract reveals the close relationship which Taylor Cadbury shared with the women who attended her class at the school which she had begun in 1888. The unnamed author of the letter writes 'we knew her better than most, for she told us all her news each Monday'. An annotation following this quotation states that this was 'fact', as Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury 'would tell her meeting about 'events in her family - new babies, deaths, illnesses...in the most friendly manner'.
