| Description | This letter was sent to Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury by George Newman's wife, Adelaide (Ada) Newman. Newman met Adelaide Thorp, an accomplished artist, through their mutual involvement with the Frideswide Girls' Club. The couple married in August 1898.
In this letter Adelaide Newman thanks Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury for sending photographs and letters to the Newmans. She refers to the 'dare devil' experiences of Taylor Cadbury's son Egbert who was serving in the Royal Navy Air Service. Adelaide also remarks on Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury's address at Quaker Meeting and concludes her letter with comments about the Cadbury family and a lady called Harriet Newman who was staying with the Newmans convelescing. |
