| Title | Letters to Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury relating to her sinus operation |
| Level | Sub Series |
| Date | January 1926 - February 1926 |
| Description | This section contains letters of sympathy sent to Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury by her friends and relatives whilst she was undergoing surgery to relieve a long-term sinus problem. Taylor Cadbury's personal secretary Miss Phyllis Cook described this operation in a letter written during February 1926, writing than an abscess had formed behind Elizabeth's eye which it had been necessary to operate on. Unfortunately the operation was unsuccessful and two further operations followed leaving Taylor Cadbury in poor health.
During this period on 24th January 1926 Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury delivered a broadcast for the BBC's Sunday Evening Service. Many letters of appreciation sent to Taylor Cadbury with reference to this broadcast also offer support and express sympathy for her forthcoming operations. |
