| Description | This letter relates to an address which Lodge delivered at the annual conference of the Parents' National Education Union which was held in Birmingham between 15th and 19th November 1909. Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury was President of the Birmingham Branch of the P.N.E.U. and oversaw the conference which included a number of evening lectures at the University of Birmingham. Lodge delivered an address entitled 'Parents and Children' in the University's recently opened Great Hall on the first evening of the conference.
In this letter Lodge complains that he was 'not very satisfied' with his address, remarking that he had not known what sort of audience to expect. He also comments on the poor acoustics in the Great Hall, describing them as 'very upsetting'. He concludes the letter with remarks about the publication of the full text of his address. |
