This section contains a letter written to Elizabeth Taylor by Joseph Storrs Fry in response to her enquiry. The section also includes a leaflet about arrangements for the conference which was sent to the Peckham Friends' First-Day School.

AdminHistoryJoseph Storrs Fry (1826-1913) was a Quaker cocoa and chocolate manufacturer. Based in Bristol, Fry was a devout member of the religious Society of Friends and was involved in many charitable works. A leading Friend within Bristol's Quaker community and an enthusiastic supporter of Sunday schools, Fry founded the Friends' First-Day School Association in 1847, serving as secretary of the Association's Bristol committee until 1887. In 1885 Fry was involved in arranging a national conference of teachers and Friends associated with the work of First-Day Schools across the country.
