DescriptionIn this letter Elizabeth Taylor refers to the hot weather and remarks that she did not think she could become a governess in Paris. Elizabeth asks her mother to insert an advertisement for her into 'The Friend', the journal of the Society of Friends, advertising her services as a teacher. As well as her achievements at school in Germany, the advertisement reveals that Elizabeth had studied singing at the Guildhall School of Music. Elizabeth concludes her letter suggesting that her friend Lily Davey should stay with her parents at the Taylor family home in Peckham.
