DescriptionIn this letter Mary Jane Taylor responds to the latest news she had received from Elizabeth about her experiences in Belleville and remarks on plans for Elizabeth's friend Lily Davey to join her at the medical mission. Mary Taylor describes a recent incident at home when the Taylors' neighbour Mr. Smith had experienced 'another attack of drink frenzy' and had 'stampeded' over the Taylors' garden. She remarks on the condition of their garden and writes that the doctor had been of little use in attempts to calm Mr. Smith. Mary Taylor also provides an account of recent family activities.
