| Description | In this letter Jeanne remarks on Elizabeth Taylor's forthcoming birthday on 24th June 1885. Describing Elizabeth as 'the dearest creature in the world', Jeanne writes that she had been remembering how 'awfully miserable' she had been when Elizabeth had gone to school in Meiningen. Remarking on her work at Westminster, Jeanne comments that she felt 'very separated from everybody' and describes the comfort which she found in her Christian faith. She writes that she had enjoyed a break from 'the busy Hospital life' in which she was engaged. Jeanne concludes her letter enquiring about Elizabeth's future plans, adding that she had recently had tea with Lily Davey. She also notes that she had been reading Charles Dickens's novels 'A Tale of Two Cities' and 'Our Mutual Friend'.
