| Title | Correspondence between Mary Jane Cash and Elizabeth Pettifer Lucas Cash |
| Level | Sub Series |
| Date | 05 February 1842 - 03 January 1860 |
| Description | This section contains a number of letters sent by Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury's mother Mary Jane Taylor (nee Cash, 1833-1887) to her mother, Taylor Cadbury's grandmother, Elizabeth Pettifer Lucas Cash. Mary Jane Cash became Mary Jane Taylor on her marriage to Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury's father John Taylor in 1855. It is possible that these letters were collected and preserved by Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury during the period in which she was compiling a book commemorating her mother's life which was entitled 'A Dear Memory: Pages from the Letters of Mary Jane Taylor'. This book was printed for private circulation in 1914. The letters in this section refer to Elizabeth Pettifer Lucas Cash's birthday in 1842 and provide an insight into Taylor family life during Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury's early childhood. |
